Need to find a home for my little f

I'm a year old mother of one special needs son. I am fleeing from domestic violence. We were displaced by an apartment fire and now we live in a family shelter. Ideally I would love a 2 bedroom, but a 1 bedroom would be amazing as well. I have applied to EVERY assistance program that I'm aware of, I'm working with a case manager but I'm not getting anywhere. I just need a chance. Every landlord or property management company looks at my not super high credit score and I don't have 4x the income vs. rent ratio, so I'm counted out. My rental history is short, as I was in my apartment that caught fire for years, and before that I was in an apartment for 5 years. Before that I was living in my childhood home. I just need a chance to be able to prove that I'm reliable, dependable, responsible, and respectful. I want to call somewhere home, and take care of my home. I tend to keep ro myself, I'm friendly, but mind my own business. We are relatively quiet, given my son is silly, but ultimately we follow the golden rule. Treat people how you want to be treated. That applies to where we live too. We treat it as our own, we take care of it as we would if it were our home. I know that I wrote a book here, but I just wanted to give a little sense of who we are in hopes that someone who is in the position to help us, will maybe feel more inclined to, after reading a bit about us. Desperately need to find a bedroom rental for my family of 3. We were displaced by an apartment fire, and now stuck in a family shelter waiting on some kind of subsidy or program to open up. We have steady income, no pets, and we are quiet and keep to ourselves. We want to have a home to come back to at the end of the day, but also a home to care for and take pride in it. PLEASE HELP!
