Relocating to Chicago from Abroad

Hi, I'm Zane. This isn’t my first time coming to Chicago, just returning after 6 years abroad (traveling, unable to leave during Covid I applied to uni and earned a BA in International Relations). My budget is tight after university, so I'm seeking an affordable shared room until I find a job. I’ve also never had a roommate before, so this is a first.

I'm a quiet homebody who prefers staying in (reading, writing, movies, anime). While my bedroom might be cluttered with clothes, I keep shared spaces tidy. I smoke but will do so outside or switch to vapes. I'm low-key cool to interact with, but often go nonverbal once my social battery dies. I'm adaptable, non-judgmental, great with pets (love all animals), and respectful of boundaries.

I won’t invite guests over, won’t touch the thermostat or your food, handle my dishes promptly, and will stick to any chore system you have in place or we can make one up if there isn’t one. I pay bills on time and prefer direct communication if issues arise—if there’s ever an issue during my stay just shoot me a text or knock on the door and we can work it out.
