Description
Hello,
My name is Skyla, and I am a CODA (child of deaf adults) in my late s. I am looking to move to Washington DC by August 1st for graduate school. I hope to stay near Gallaudet University (i.e. Noma, Trinidad) or a short distance away via public transportation.
I have a miniature Australian Shepherd that will be moving to DC with me named Champ. He is technically considered an ESA. He loves people, walks, and treats. Since going blind, he is not fond of other animals anymore, so he would do best as the only animal in the household.
I am fluent in American Sign Language, and I am open to having a Deaf, hard-of-hearing, or hearing roommate(s).
I enjoy traveling, comedy clubs, sporting events, and going on walks with Champ. I do not drink, smoke, or use drugs. I also tend to go to bed around pm and wake up around am daily.
For work, I am currently a clinical research coordinator at a neurology clinic working mostly on Multiple Sclerosis and Alzheimer’s Disease research trials. I am also an American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter. During my graduate studies, I will continue as an ASL interpreter.
I would prefer to stay at a budget of $ per month, but I am willing to increase my budget for the right place (i.e. patio/yard, dishwasher, in-unit laundry).
