About me
My name is Skyla, and I am a CODA (child of deaf adults) in my late s. I am looking to move to Washington DC by August 1st for graduate school, and I would prefer to live near Gallaudet University.
I have a miniature Australian Shepherd that will be moving to DC with me named Champ. He is technically considered an ESA. He is an older man that loves people, walks, and treats. Since going blind, he is not as fond of other animals anymore and would do best as the only animal in the household.
I am fluent in American Sign Language, and I am open to having a Deaf, hard-of-hearing, or hearing roommate.
I enjoy comedy shows, traveling, sporting events, and going on walks with Champ. I do not drink, smoke, or use drugs. I also tend to go to bed around pm and wake up around am daily.
For work, I am a clinical research coordinator within the realm of neurology and work mostly in Multiple Sclerosis and Alzheimer’s Disease research. I am also an ASL interpreter.
I am willing to spend more on living accommodations for the right place (i.e patio or yard, dishwasher, in-unit laundry).
